Solenoid was not mentioned as replaced.

If it was not part of new starter...that's the culprit.

Ignition switch (smaller wire) activates the solenoid (heavier wire) which in turn activates the (high current) starter.

Car was starting fine, then one time I turned the key and nothing happened, battery is new. I tried it several times, took out the key then put the key back in and it still wouldn't do anything. Latter...

You may have a bad ignition switch or bad starter solenoid. I would check to see if the starter solenoid is getting power on the small wire when you turn the ignition switch to the starting position.

Starter

You need to check and see if when you turn the key to start that you get current at the starter soldnoid. If not check the safty switch and the ignition switch. If you get current check and see if it goes thru to the starter if not replace soldnoid if it does check the starter itself. These are all electrical and can fail at any time without any warning. Good luck.

Need to change the ignition switch

Remove panel under steering wheel. Put key in cylinder and turn back to accessory position. Looking under lower part of steering column locate a small pin under the key cylinder. While depressing the pin turn the key backwards and pull the entire cylinder with key out of column. Good luck.
