The brake lights on my 2004 suzuki forenza stay on

The bake brake lights stay on even when the car is turned off. If I move the pedal up the brake lights will go off and the is a little play in the pedal . Is there an adjustment that can be made or is the problem more involved.

88 suzuki Samari I replaced RR and LR tail lights housing. (New)blinkers work break lights work also.when I take foot off break pedal the break lights stay on and parking light and break light.Help

Their is switch the brake switch its on the brake pedal up high .
It sounds like its working because the lights work .
However it dose have an adjustment on most of them ware you can move the switch in or out so it olny makes contact when you touch the pedal with your foot .
This sounds like you need to back the contact out a little its a nut 1/2 turn should do it .
Its usely vary simple take a look at it even if you need to replace it it is an 88 its inexpensive and not hard to do .

2006 Kia Amanti... the brake lights stay on

If the brake lights stay on even if the car is turned off (or even if it is on) the first thing I would be checking is the brake pedal switch under the dash. Brake lights are activated when the brake pedal is depressed and comes off the switch or the return spring is broken or stretched not allowing it to fully return when foot is taken off the brake pedal.

B LIGHTS NO WORK

"B" lights? You mean brake lights? Could be the brake light switch. I'd start there. It's fairly easy to replace. To check the brake switch, remove it, and see if the piece that pushes in is stuck be gently pressing on it and if it doesn't press in, gently pull on it to see if comes out. If it doesn't not freely move, that is probably your issue. The brake pedal assembly presses it in when you step on it. For a 2004 Forenza, the part # is 37740-85Z22. If you have a 2005 - 2008 Forenza, the part # is 37740-86Z21. Both are under $20.

Have you tried reseting the ECU, it's worth the try
All you have to do is disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes, press the brake pedal several times while turning ignition switch on and off and this will reset you computer to factory settings....

My 2004 suzuki forenza will not shift out of park unless a key is inserted into the shift lock release, is there any way to fix this or any suzuki dealerships near bakersfield?

Did you spill anything on the console?
I'm not familiar with this exact model but I used to be a tech at a Mazda dealer. We used to have to take apart consoles and clean big gulp goo out of the mechanism. There is a small electric solenoid that unlocks the shifter when you step on the brake. It does not have enough power to move the linkage when there is sticky goo all over it.
Take the top off the shifter. Clean all the moving parts. Pre-moistened kitchen wipes followed by a light coat of silicone spray was the secret recipe.

2007 suzuki forenza brake lights will stay on after i shut the car off and there is a burning smell in the trunk any help?

Are they always on? If so, your break switch button is probably stuck. It is located above the break pedal. It is a chrome looking round cylinder. The break pedal hits the button and turns the light on. That button may be stuck. You can try to loosen it up.

My brake lights are not working and i can not move the handle from parking to any other possition

For what you are saying, for me ,first I check the pedal brake switch.Underneat the dash, where the brake pedal is located you are going to see the switch, probably only needs to be adjust, take it off and see if it works manualy, then put it back and adjust it whit the pedal,if not try whit a new one.
