This could be down to the petrol cap breaths through the key hole. boil it in a pan or use steradent tablet to clean it. if the petrol tank gets no air. it can cut out.

Had same problem with a 04 vivaro 150,000 miles, after a fuel filter change, the filter bowl has to be totally cleaned out when you change the filter, and filled with fresh diesel. otherwise crap gets into the pump ,injectors etc.but; having had pump cleaned and injectors serviced (massive hassle best avoided) had same problem and eventually(after pulling most of my hair out and having whipped the bejeezus out of the van with a prickly branch) found that the return nozzle into the tank was half blocked with crap,I cleaned that out and its been running pretty well for the last 30,000 miles.but it is playing up again now unplugging the air flow meter always seems to sort out any power loss issues.
