I'm having trouble with the clutch getting stuck half travel when i let out the clutch on my 96 Ford 150 4.9 w/5 speed.I understand that changing the slave cylinder on this model is difficult because the cyl. is concentric hence; requiring the removal of the transmission. Is this true? Please help-like a lot of folks i have no money and must attempt this fix myself. In anticipation of lots of helpful information I wish to thank everyone in advance--THANKS and Best Wishes God is on our side.

96 ford 4.9 5 speed hydrolich clutch wont shift all of a sudden new master cylinder

You have a leak and you have air in the system. More than likely the slave cylinder is leaking, the slave is a direct acting one and as with all direct acting slave cylinder it is located inside the transmission bell housing on the transmission input shaft collar. The transmission must be removed to replace it.

Manual 5 speed transmission clutch stuck. It was cold. Clutch itself is good. It appears to be a linkage prob of some sort. The haynes manual wont help because it covers too many diff trucks. mine is a 96...

Your truck has a hydraulic clutch, check to see fluid is full in the clutch master cylinder, and see if fluid is leaking at the line or the slave cylinder, line could have broke, or master/slave cylinder needs replaced.

96 F250 cruise control not working

Is the truck an automatic or standard? Commonly the failure has to do with either the brake pedal switch or the clutch pedal switch. What have you checked out so far? Were there any recent repairs? Did your truck make the recall list (check with your local ford dealer), Have you checked for any blown fuses?
