Locating central locking pump

Hi, is there anybody that can tell me where to find the central locking pump on an audi 80 cabriolet 1995. I am trying to wire up remote central locking and i am having a problem locating the pump. I was told it was in the rear off side quarter but had no joy finding it there. If any one can give any help it would be much appreciated.

I can confirm that in my 94 model the pump is also located in the trunk, to the right of the spare wheel well, under a plastic cover.

I think it is very likely that it sits at the same place as in my car, which is a 92' model. Anyway, in my car it is located beneath a round cover under the carpet in the right front of the trunk.
Hope this was of any help:)

Fuse box layout is needed for 1995 audi cabriolet

I have found a link that should be able to help you. If you didn't already know, the fuse panel diagram is located on the inside of the fuse panel usually. If you cannot locate it there, you can download it in the link I provided. Be sure to read it correctly and take your time when locating a fuse. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me. Link: http://www.pdfoo.com/resultpage10~1995-audi-cabriolet-fuse-diagram.html

If you are having trouble w/ the top. Check to make sure the central locking system is working properly. Also as on my Cabri, try locking the trunk 1st. Hope this helps

Check your fuse box....unless you hear it trying to close or open, function whatever... but im sure you have a blown fuse. especially if they stoped working at the same time.

Central locking not working can it be the pump if so were is it if not what els can it be thanks

On all audi 80s I have seen, the central locking system is driven by a vacuum pump. If the systm does not work it can either be the pump, or a problem with the wiring, or even just a fuse.

The vacuum pump should be located underneath a round cover under the carpet in the right front of the trunk. If this gives any sound when you lock/unlock the doors, there is probably something wrong with either the pump or the vacuum lines. If the pump has no sign of life you should troubleshoot with a multimeter to find out if it is the pump or the wiring that is defect.

Audi a4 1995 central locking problem

Hi there.
I had exactly the same problem and there are 2 ways of solving it. The first is to pay your Audi Service Centre £350-£550 to replace it for you and the second way is to do it yourself which will cost well under £100 (depending on ebay). Firstly check the Central Locking Pump to make sure the hoses haven't come off. This is located in the very back right hand corner of the boot so you will need to remove the carpet and internal trim and you will see a block of sponge. Carefully lift the top off this and you will see the pump sat inside it.
Actually there is a great set of photos online to help you and I will add the link for you at the end. If the hoses are still connected and not leaking it is very likely that the internal compressor wheel has shattered (quite a common fault). I believe it is possible to open the pump and replace this wheel (in fact there is one for sale on a very popular auction site at the moment) but my own preference was to simply buy a whole new pump and replace that (£16.00 + £8 p+p off the same auction site).
The most important thing for you to remember is that when you look to buy a replacement pump you need to find one with the EXACT same serial number. The one in the diagram shown is
8LO 862 257 N but I have a sneaky feeling yours might end in an A.
Anyway, I hope this is of some help and dont worry about the connections as both air connectors and all 3 electrical ones are different sizes and will only fit in one place each.
Good luck.
