Question about 1999 Dodge Intrepid
My car is a dodge intrepid 1999 motor 2.7 it
Cam sensor is on the driver side, front of the motor, just below the valve covers in easy veiw, just outboard of the water temp sensor and they both share the same wiring harness. The cam sensor is on the passenger side, actually on the transmission bell housing. It takes the signal from the flywheel next to the ring gear, about an inch from the engine on the transmission bellhousing. Accesible from the top and easier if you remove the air filter duct. Or jack up the front passenger side and easier if you come in from the front and its behind the axel, behind the motor, go up the bell housing, just below crank shaft level. Go with this first , it tells the comp when to send fuel. If you're getting spark with a 1381 code and you're choosing between CAM & CRANK, start with this, this is the culprit. Consider getting it from the dealer. Good luck. This is Waverunner70, Hope I could help.
