Where is starter located on dodge neon 1997

The starter is in the front of the engine and never the middle. You can see it best from underneath the car.To remove it you should take out the radiator fan to make it easier to get at the top bolt, start there because a lot of the time you will find the ground cable that goes to this bolt has rotted off and you may not need a starter, just a cable end.

I brought a new battery for my dodge neon thinking the battery was dead but i put the keys in the lightt go on but the engine wont make a sound

Sounds like solenoid on starter has packed it in Try crossing solenoid terminal (small wire on solenoid) to power feed on starter (End of battery cable) If nothing happens Remove starter & renew solenoid

1997 dodge neon was clicking at solenoid ( so I thought ) but wouldnt crank . Push started it then replaced starter , but same problem . Just clicks doesnt crank over

check the connection to your starter.you might not have enough current going to you starter allowing it to turn over or your battery may be low.

Where is the Tcc Slnoid located on my 1997 Dodge Neon?

The TCC solenoid is attached to the Valve Body inside the transmission. You will need to drain your tranmission and remove the pan to access it.

1997 Dodge Neon. New battery. Ran fine for a couple of days now it wont start. All I get is a ''click''. Had starter tested and it was fine

If battery is good and fully charged and starter is good, possibly starter solenoid, if not on the starter. Also check battery cables, make sure that all 4 ends have good clean solid connections. Also cables themselves can get so corroded inside that the fix is to replace them. Good luck, please rate this. Thanks

Battery has a full charge, but the solenoid just "clicks" when i try to start it

the contacts inside the starter solenoid that power up the starter are burnt, this is a common issue on this starter design, you can replace just the solenoid or just replace the whole starter.

1997 Neon Starter Solenoid Engages,,BUT

ase mechanic here, sounds like the starter is on its way out, will have to replace since you cleaned all the connections, but in the mean time try hitting the solenoid portion with some object and see if the engine starts. if so the starter needs replacing.
