Question about 1994 Isuzu Trooper

1 Answer

94 Trooper will not start

I just changed the bat ends, the spark plugs and wires, tighten the alt belt (to stop squealing) and the oil. Now the truck will not even turn over... The bat has full charge tried to jump it and nothing. Not even trying to start. I have been told possibly the starter or maybe just a relay. or possibly the ignition switch.. Does anyone have any idea how I can check these things??? Please Help......

Do your accessories work? Lights, radio, etc? Have you tried shifting the vehicle into neutral and tried starting it?

Clean all the connections at the battery and the starter .. also be sure that the ground (black) side is clean ..

Also .. follow the positive (red) wire from battery .. does it go to a solenoid or relay device before it gets to the battery? Or is it a "straight run" from the battery to the started

You said "if I run hot wire from starter connector to battery positive side the truck will start" ..

So I understand that if you run another wire from the battery to the same connection on the starter that the battery cable is going to you can get the truck to start?

If so I would replace that battery cable from the battery to the starter.

1998 Isuzu trooper 3.5 alternator replace

step one remove battery neg lug .
the above video (of book?) is wrong.
the belt tension-ing step was skipped.

remove belt steps remove alt. wiring. remove alternator (bolts) it falls free. replace it , reverse steps above belt back tension belt. battery cable back. test run. charge/BAT lamp off?
see wrench below, turn it CW.
this releases the spring tension and belt comes off
to put back, do same and put on belt and release wrench.

Squeal accelerating

I believe you have a couple problems. The squeal could be an idler pulley, tensioner, alt or something else on the front of the motor. The oil issue is something else I believe. Keep an eye on you oil level.

Short time belt squeal

hi

the squeal on a belt when the engine is started is a indication that it is loose and slipping

it needs to be tighten or at least changed, sometimes people squirt a little oil on it to lubricate it so it stops making that noise but it wont stop until tightened or changed

It violently shakes when parked or when stopped with brake applied, doesn't shake when moving though, rpms is like 500rpm constant so between 0 and 1 on the gauge. it also notice at night my lights stay...

If it shakes, it is normally either a bad motor mount (if the car runs fine) or your car is "missing" on one or more cylinders (misfire). The belt will squeal because they stretch with use. That can be solved by replacing the belt or tightening the belt. The squealing sound won't go away until you do one of those two things and is unrelated to the shaking. You PROBABLY are experiencing a very "rough idle" if any of the hoses to the intake (top of the motor) have a hole or crack in them from heat or age. This is common and is the first thing to look for to avoid high repair bills. Bad (worn out) spark plugs or old cracked plug wires can also cause a misfire. You could also have a bad coil pack, but mine has gone 186,000 miles without coil replacement or new plugs or wires and I've only changed the fuel filter once. Another possiblity is a faulty Idle Position Sensor that is not properly regulating the fuel delivery. Normally that would cause an engine light to come on also though and you can have someone at the parts store "read the code" once the engine light comes on.

Timing belt on 1996 mazda protege slips during startup

Hello, this to me sounds like your fan belt slipping (not timing belt). To adjust the fan belt you need to undo your bolt on the alternator, pull it tight onto the fan belt and while holding it tight do the bolt back up tightly. this will stop yoour fan belt from slipping. I hope this helps.

TWO DAYS AGO 94 RANGER (4 CYL) SOHC...STOPPED ON ROAD. CRANKS BUT DOES NOT START. HAS FUEL PRESSURE. CHANGED FUEL FILTER. CHANGED AIR FILTER. CHANGED ONE OF THE DISTRIBUTOR COILS...TWO SPARK WIRES WERE NOT...

If all the coils are giving spark now, then you moat likely have gas fouled plugs now,so change them out with new ones, all 8 of them.If you do not have spark on all plug wires, pull the timing belt cover, and align the cam shaft and the cam,to see if the belt has jumped. If It hasn`t,replace the crankshaft sensor.

Squealing sound every time I start my van

you need to adjust the alternator belt, do adjustment a little bit tightening a bit. this will solve the problem. Or just change a new belt if the belt has crack.
