Question about 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

1 Answer

Engine won't turn over

This is on a 2005 Ford Sport Trac.
Disconected the battery to check fluid levels as the red light was showing on the battery. Added a little water and reconnected the the cable's.
Tried to start the motor but the starter would not engage. Got a little click when I turn the key to start.
All other electrics are working ok.
Put in another battery and still no results.
Any ideas?

I meant to ask where is the transmission fluid level supposed to be on the dipstick of a 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

It should be in the hatched pattern range on the dipstick. This information is available for further reference in the owners manual, to include how to properly check it.

Check fluid levels. If its not low, it may be time for a rebuild. Try in all gears to see if it will move

I need to reset the check engine like on my 2003 ford sport trac

All you need to do is turn of your engine, disconnect the postive and negative wire from the battery, leave it like that for half and hour or so until the ECU reset itself. Connect and turn on, check engine light should go off. If it comes back on, you have a issue, a sensor is detecting a malfuction somewhere and you will need to get a code for it or take it to the shop to see what the check engine light is coming on for.

My check engine light will not come on at all on my 2005 sport trac. Anyone know how to fix it?

are you shure that your check engine light should be on?? if you are and the light doesn´t come on then maybe your check engine light bulb is gone, you had to take your dash board out and see if your bulb is good, the bulb should not cost you more than 3 dollars on autozone, hope this helps.
