1997 honda accord goes in reverse fine but not forward

I have a 1997 accord 4 cylinder goes in to reverse fine not drive check engine light is on and started all of a sudden

Check fluid to make sure there is enough fluid in there if there is, then if there is then you may have a bigger problem like a transmission problem or a bad torque conver. check that out and get back to me if you need more help. Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA.

I agree with James' answer. And I will add this fact for you too. BAD NEWs IS... When a Transmission starts to FAIL--Reverse is the initial gear that fails [in most cases].

Engine check light is on and odometer stop running

Vehicle speed sensor. This runs the odometer/speedometer. Top of tranny, a cable runs all the way to the back of the odometer.

Your transmission is shot.It will have to be rebuilt.Or a different trans put into it. Not a cheap repair.$3000 end up. Thats what happens for buying a over price toy guy.

The brake pedal is fine with engine off. When started the pedal drops almost to the floor.Fluid level is fine, I have jacked up all 4 wheels and checked if the brakes are working- they are.....

the master cylinder has a bypassing issue. double check your rear brakes for proper adjustment and if good, replace the master cylinder and bleed the system. happy new year

Engine runs fine when started, put it in reverse and it starts to

probably neither. You should do a compression check, and check your transmission fluid for dicoloration and metal shavings.
