Question about 2001 Ford Focus
2001 Ford Focus ZTS (Zetec Engine) For several weeks the car has been slow to respond to the accelerator - the engine seems to speed up (tach rises) but the car does not immediately accelerate - then the car begins to speed up. Is slow to accelerate from stop, also, and seems that it doesn't gear down immediately when slowing to a stop. I had to replace the ignition coil and pigtail recently, which caused the car to actually quit while driving or not start at all, but the acceleration problem started before that.
I have the same car. So far no problems with the Transmision. I had the Trans oil change out every 60 K
Sure sounds like you need to get the Transmision checked. Is the fault light on. I have invested ina fault code reader sure is worth it.
Good luck. Vilmos
