1995 maxima GL. I've noticed that the car has problems sometime starting. It's not the starter or the battery, but it seems as if the carborator isn't getting enough fuel to the engine. I have to pump the gas pedal a few times while turning the key before it starts. Is this a fuel filter problem, carborator problem or what! Please advise or your best guest repairs needed. Thanks

Mcdevito75 here you should first start out with a complete tune up, if your car hasn't had one in at least 1 year then you work from there. Your problems could be many things and to replace 1 at a time will cost more than a tune up in the long run, much more.

"Warning Lights" on the dashboard of "1995 Nissan Maxima"

The warning lights coming on with the key in the on position is normal. If the key is turned to the start position and the engine will not crank over, suspect an internal starter motor problem or lack of power to the starter solenoid. You can try tapping on the starter motor with a blunt object while someone holds the key in the crank position to see if it starts when this problem occurs. If it starts using this procedure, the starter motor will be defective

My 95 maxima was just cuttn out on me and would go dead but usually move battery cables a little and it would crank, however we changed cable ends on battery, crank it and dtove doen the road, it went dead...

Battery went dead? If this is the case you probably have a dead short.Should pull starter possibly bad solinoid, My old Maxima had caused me similar issue, if you pull starter it usually can be tested at a local Auto parts store. In a vehicle that fails to start, the common problems are the starter solenoid and the starter motor. The starter assembly can be quickly pulled from a 1995 Nissan Maxima, and then can be further separated to replace one part of the starter assembly. The process does not require any special tools, and can be done by novice mechanics

Starter won't turn, just one tick but no action, lights are strong, no other sound. Have not checked anything yet but does this sound like a starter? Car was driving fine but did notice car harder to start...

Ok, the first thing to check is the starter, yes. This is free to do, just remove the starter and take it to Autozone. They will connect it and test it to see if it is functioning correctly. The best part is you can purchase a new one right there if it is bad. If it is not the starter let me know and I will help with further diagnosis.

Check the battery cables for corrosion by peeling back the insulation a few inches. Probably all green or white dust. replace the cables

1995 Nissan Maxima starter won't always engage when key is turned

It is most likely the solenoid contacts that are getting bad. You can sometimes have an auto electric shop fix your starter for a reasonable price.

Car start problem

your problem is not with the starter, the problem is with your ignition switch. at the back of ignition switch is a hard plastic that contains the wire. here in the philippines you can buy that part alone but in your case i think it's not available so you have to change the ignition switch as a whole.
