I have a suzuki sx4.
have the same problem, what isnt clear to me is how you get to the oil life screen.
Turn key on, push display to where it shows engine oil life remaining, push and hold the button with the check mark for 5 sec. The percentage will flash and reset to 100. IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL TRYS!!!!! Last time for me it took 6 trys, but it works....
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

GM OIL LIFE SYSTEM - RESETTING The engine oil life monitor will indicate when to change the engine oil - usually between 5 000 km (3,000 miles) and 16 000 km (10,000 miles) since the last oil change. Under severe conditions, the "CHANGE OIL SOON" light may be displayed before 5 000 km (3,000 miles). The vehicle must not be driven more than 16 000 km (10,000 miles) or 12 months without an oil change.
Reset the oil life monitor when the oil has been changed, use the following procedure:
Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
Fully push and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
If the Change Oil Soon light flashes, the system is resetting.
Start the vehicle.
The oil life will change to 100%.
If the Change Oil Soon light comes back on, the system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
This is done by turning the key on engine off and fully pressing the gas pedal to the floor sloowly three times within 5 seconds, the light will blink and go off then turn the key off for 3 sec and start engine, light should be off if not repeat steps. hope this helps.
this light is triggered only by miles. you will probably need to go to the dealer to reset this light. in the meantime try this: 1. Turn the key to the "ACC" position which is the notch that allows power but doesn't turn the engine. 2. The display will read change engine oil soon - hit the display button(i) and the display will read 0% oil life. 3. Hit reset button (the check mark button) for 5 seconds and the display will change to 100 % oil life. 4. It may not work the 1st,2nd,3rd .... attempt , but will work eventually.
I had the same problem what worked for me was to turn the key to run (without starting engine) go to the oil life screen and then press and hold the check mark button for several seconds. The oil life went back to 100 % instantly.
