Question about 1996 Audi A4
I put my audi in to a garage who had inspected the vehicle and told me i needed a new heater matrix. This was replaced and paid for and the vehicle collected. However, still cold air only!. I returned the car to the garage and was told its needs a new water pump and hence cam belt. Reluctantly i agreed to this, paid for it and collected the car. To my dismay it still has no heat coming from the vents only cold air. Back to the garage again for third time. They have said they have checked the heater control flaps for temperature and direction are working as they should be. They have replaced the thermostat- still no heat. They are now going to replace the radiator, to see if this cures the problem. The manager of the garage has said he does not know what else to do if the radiator does not solve the problem. Does anyone know of any other possible fault that could be occurring to stop heat coming from the vents even after all the above have been tried. Any answers will be much appreciated as i am now at my wits end!!
I have read on an audi forums sitethat sometimes air gets stuck in heater core and can cause the problems you are experiencing. You need to get the coolant bleed. Easiest way would be to go get it flushed by one of those flushing machines. Hope this helps. I found solution at audiforums.com
