CAR JUST IDLES, NO MEDIUM REV RANGE, IF YOU FEATHER THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL YOU CAN GET IT TO REV. TRIED 3 AIRFLOW METRES, MADE NO DIFFERENCE. COMPUTER COMES UP WITH ''AIR ATMOSPHERIC SENSOR'' AND ''AIR TEMP INTAKE SENSOR''. WAS TOLD BY PROFESSIONALS IT'S ALL GO TO DO WITH THE AIRFLOW METRE. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND KNOWS HOW TO FIX IT?

Have you checked the power and ground supply to the MAF. They are right the barometric pressure sensor and the intake air temp sensor are built in to the MAF.

The MAP and MAF are two different sensors. I thought you had a problem with the MAF. Do you have codes coming up for both? The MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) measures Air Flow into the engine. The MAP(Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor) measures intake manifold vacuum.

My ford telstar tx5 V6 idles correctly and revs clean when not in gear. When driving there are deadspots in the throttle

there is an idea that when it runs good in reverse but not in forward gears , there is a problem in bad engine mounts that is allowing the wiring to make a bad circuit for the electronics
could be a loose /bad connection for the cam/ crank sensors, injector operation or ignition control module
in forward gear , the engine reacts to the torque application and that would pull on the harness
when in reverse the reaction is opposite and not affect the wires

Gas pedal not working

I will list several things it could be first bad throttle position sensor, need to hook up diagnostic scanner to verify.2nd possible fuel pump not putting up enough pressure when this happens generally when you push the accelerator pedal the car will die,now if you have a throttle cable still for the accelerator pedal the cable could have broken or came off on top of the engine you can see it .is it turbo charged bad turbo can cause this.lastly the convertor could be plugged which cause the exhaust to be come restricted so the engine cant rev up ,you will hjere like a hissing sound when you try to rev up or put your hand at the end of the tailpipe see if it has good flow out the tailpipe

AS '85 TELSTAR TX5 TURBO - POSSIBLE AIRFLOW METRE PROBLEM

Have you tried replacing the Throttle Position Sensor? It's more than likely that the TPS is faulty than the air flow meter. The TPS has small strips that ride under a claw, which is where the sensor gets its signal. Give that a try.
