Question about 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse
After the head gasked was replaced and first started a big plume of smoke enveloped the car and after a while the smoke subsided now when I start the car at fisrt there is no smoke caming out until the engine warms up (when the gasket went the engine was overheated and was driven until it stopped would that have caused the oil rings to be damaged and the let the oil enter the combustion chamer and and emmit the oil to burn
If the smoke is white, or steam it is water. you might have cracked the head or warped it. Did you get it looked at before you put the new gasket on? If the smoke is black then it is oil. Do a compression check and see if you don't have a bad cylinder. They should all be about the same give or take 5 lbs.
