SOURCE: My mechanic reccomends a tranmission flush?

USUALLY YOU SHOULD CHANGE THE TRANY FLUID EVERY 40,000 MILES. MORE OFTEN IF YOU LIVE IN A HOT AREA LIKE PHOENIX ARIZONA. YOU COULD HAVE PROBLEMS IF YOU CHANGE THE FLUID NOW. IT IS KIND OF A GAMBLE. IF YOU HAVEN'T DRIVEN YOUR CAR HARD YOU MORE THAN LIKELY WILL BE FINE. A GOOD INDICATOR OF THE OVERALL CONDITION IS TO CHECK THE FLUID AND DETERMINE HOW BURNED THE FLUID HAS BECOME. GOOD LUCK.

SOURCE: Tapping sound in The engine Head

Sounds like lifter noise. The best solution for lifter noise is, change the oil use a good quality oil , i would recommend a synthetic oil or at least a couple of quarts. Then get a bottle of MARVEL MYSTERY OIL this stuff works good add that to you oil when you change it and that should clear up any lifter noise. Another thing that might help use a higher grade gas a couple of times.

Did the 'Check Engine' Light come ON? Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE the problem and perhaps eventually fix the problem.

SOURCE: 2000 sonata; difficult to put gas in car. Gas

no its not the vent.it is the restrictor for the nozzle for unleaded gas.(thinner/smaller then leaded) causing a back pressure when you are filling up.sorry but you will just have to fill up slowly like i do....

How many quarts of transmission fluid will it take to flush and refill my 2008 Pontiac GT G6?

the only way to properly flush an auto transmission is to do it with the engine running
it requires a filling line and a drain line so that fresh oil is put in and drained out
this process flushes out the torque converter
if you just plan to empty the pan a few times then there will be stale oil left in the converter as it never empties on a drain of the pan only
It is far better to find an accredited shop to do the flush
normally it takes about 5 gallons for the flush

Took my car an 08 Hyundai Sonata for an oil change to the dealer and they told us there was sludge in the engine we have been keeping up with oil changes ,is there a defect with the sonata's engin

There are two main causes for sludge, not changing the oil and filter at regular times, and not running the engine long enough to get it hot.
You might want to get a second opinion from a shop other than the dealer. The dealer may have a sales promotion on engine flushes this month.

Hi , I've got a tapped noise on my Sonata 2.0 L GL4. Can anyone help please ?

You may have low oil pressure due to a plugged passage, have you tried flushing the engine with any of the commercial engine flushes out there, shops also do this service. It is also poss that the noise is not the valve train but piston skirt slap.

I have a 1993 Buick Lesabre that stalls when the fuel level gets between 1/4 & 1/2 a tank. It only happens when I come to a stop, other than that, it runs fine. Changed the fuel filter, didn't...

It sounds to me as though your fuel tank needs to be flushed out. Even with a new fuel filter they can clog down enough to maintain flow but not have enough flow for your engine.

I have a 1997 Ford Escort 2.0L when my rpm gauge goes below 1500 the oil light comes on. When I step on the gas and it goes above 1500 it shuts off what can this be. I check for oil loss and there is none....

DONT overfill the oil..If its overfull,,DRAIN immediately..You WILL do damage if its 3 quarts over..Sounds like a possible oil pressure sensor..If it makes a ticking sound at idle or tries to overheat,,you may have a oil pressure problem..The suction screen on your pump could also be stopped up...I f you havent been changing the oil at the right intervals ,,try to run some engine flush and drain the oil and see if that helps..Follow the directions on the flush,,and do not drive it while flushing it,,this could also do damage..If the flush doesnt work,,and you cant check your oil pressure,,than i would try replacing the sensor..Worse case senerio your oil pump is bad...

My car started over heating and I stopped on the side of the road and poured water into my brake fluid instead of my radiator and then drove it straight hone abou 7 mile

Brake fluid is hygroscopic (pulls in moisture from the atmosphere). Putting water in there is definitely very bad for the system because water will readily mix with the fluid and can actually boil as you made a hard stop.
First thing to do is remove the fluid from the reservoir using a turkey baster or siphon. Re-fill with fresh fluid, then bleed the front wheels, doing that 'till the master is nearly empty, Re-fill and do the same at the rear brakes. Repeat entire procedure twice. Unlike normal bleeding, you don't add while you are doing the procedure but run the reservoir nearly empty, only adding fluid when it comes close to empty. And, you begin at the front instead of the rear. Do not let the reservoir become empty or air will enter the system.
After completing the flush, it's a good idea to empty the reservoir and re-fill once or twice in the next few weeks just to make sure no more water is in there.
You didn't mention what you did about the overheating but make sure that's taken care of asap or the least of your problems will be the brakes!!

I HAVE A 2003 SAAB 9-3. i CALLED THE SAAB DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ABOUT A TRANSMISSION FLUSH AND WAS TOLD THEY ONLY EMPTY AND FILL-THERES NO NEED FOR A FLUSH. WHAT IS THIS ABOUT AND WHAT IS THE...

its a play on words.....when you say flush, you mean pump trans oil in and let it run to clean out any gunk inside the box.SAME AS emptying and refilling with a filter change.(when you flush a cooling system you fix a garden hose to the lower heater hose and remove the rad cap, thats a real flush.......reverse flow.)

AC compressor

doesnt mean system is empty, because no oil came out off compressor, unless the system was flush and should be flushed with cleaner, then the system would hold 10oz, of oil, also make sure to spin compressor by hand 10 times to get the oil and liqiud out of cylinders, add a couple ozes of oil in dryer then compressor and the evaporator core to equal 10oz of oil, after added oil to compressor stand on pulley to coat seal let sit for 10min, then after all line are connected then you spin 10 turns, hope this help,
