Question about 2003 Nissan Maxima
My car will only rev to 2500 rpm in drive or in park
Bad mass air flow meter replace it also check for a ecm update at the dealership goes by vin pretty common problem

Most Japanese manufacturers protect their engines from over-rev by programming the ECU to limit rpms when vehicle speed is zero. 2500 rpms seems low. Usually it is in the 3500-4000 rpm range. Is this car new to you or have you had it a while and this is a new observation?
