Question about 2002 Chevrolet Express
I have a 2002 Chevy van 7 seater passenger van that has been great. However, just recently, it started making chirping, screaching type sounds as I take my foot off the brake or when I break. Sometimes it happens as I turn a corner and then stops. My husband checked the brakes and had another mechanic check them. They are fine. Does anyone know why this is happening or what it is? My computer light came on but it is about a thermostat not anything else. We replaced that.PLEASE HELP as it sounds like something terrible is wrong and I hate the loud bird type chirping.Thanks.RNS1978
Check to be sure there is the correct amount of preload on the front wheel bearings. Too loose or too tight will give you strange noises. Also, you may have a calibur hanging up or retracting too slowly. It causes the brake pad to stay in "Light" contact with the rotor and cause noises too. This could be an intermitten problem.
