Question about 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible

1 Answer

2007 G6 Outside Temperature Gauge

Mine appears to either be stuck or not working. Despite it being 70 today, mine was reading 50. Any idea on the issue? Is there a manual reset?

The sensor (known as a thermistor) is in front of the radiator on a little bracket, replace it.

My air conditioner compressor is cycling on and off. The car is a 2007 Pontiac G6. Only blowing warm air.

Usually if its "fast cycling" its low on freon which means you probably have a leak also. After adding the freon to the proper level the fast cycling should stop and you should have cold air in the low 50 degree range coming rom the vents. You can buy the cans of freon with the pressure gauges built into them so you can gauge how much to put in. It's based on outside air temperature. Follow the instructions carefully and you shouldn't have any issues.

I have similar problem with my 2009 G6. Almost positive mine is caused by the torque converter partially unlocking and locking. Mine is worst on level ground at about 50 mph. GM dealer says it is with in specs. I say they just don't want to fix it.

Where is the temperature guage located under the hood in my pontiac g6. I can not find it to replace.

The temperature gauge is actually a needle that read a range of Hot/Cold on the dash instrument cluster. If you are referring to the coolant temperature sensor, the location depends on the engine size. Post the engine size and we'll answer it better.
