Question about 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
I bought a used radio/navigation for my 2002 ML 320. I don't have the code or the VIN # of the vehicle it came out of. How do I get the code???
Unfortunatly the only way to get a radio code is from the mercedes dealership. I've always been able to get a code by contacting the service department and giving them the serial number on the head unit. hopefully the unit is not installed in the vehicle or you have the ability to remove it yourself because the serial number is on the radio head unit. The number will follow an s/n abreviation the other number is a part number. the software numbers won't matter as far as getting the code. I worked at an independent shop so I had authorization to get codes with only serial numbers. You will have to go to the dealer and provide a reciept to ensure the unit is not stolen.
