I should have been more specific. locate good doors at a junk yard. you can cut them off with a hack saw. just be sure to cut at the body, and leave the hinge in tack with the pins. Then on a saw horse you can fabricate a way to press them out. Then on your truck you need to cut about 1/2 " below the head of the pin. We used an air gun with a cutting wheel. With the pins cut then just bang them down and out. If you located the new pins you will see they are 2 and 1/2 inches long. lube them with never seize and use a nylon or brass flat washer when you hang the doors in between the hinges on the door and truck. this will eliminate metal to metal.
    You need patience. Good luck.

You do not have to pull the hinge. I just did one. The pins need to be pressed out. We used a bearing press. It is a 4 hour job. Locate the pins fisrt and you will see why they won't pound out.

Use a jack and piece of wood to support the door. Then just balance it with string or rope to hold it. Use a punch and hammer and knock em out.

Replacing WINDOW REGULATOR, on 92 gmc suburban, can I pull the regulator and motor out through one of the holes or do I need to remove the door enter metal panel ?

Proper proceedure in service manual is to pull whole panel. But, I have been able to remve top half of bolts on panel, put a piece of wood (like a small 2X4) between door and panel and remove regulator. hope that helps.

Doors no longer lock with key. doors no longer lock when 18 mph. is reaaached.

think it might be a sensor in the drivers door on the back of the key lock ,thats where i normally disconnect this stupid device that locks the doors when vehicle moves ,ever tried to get some kids out of a burning vehicle but doors would open ,then petrol tank explodes as i am trying to find something to smash the window .the rest is too horrific to describe or i will get banned

1999 GMC suburban locks seize in locked postion

I just bought a 1999 Suburban and all of the door lock actuators were bad including the rear (barn style door) while I was replacing the rear door acuator I noticed that even with the factory mounting bracket on the actuator it was causing the door lock rod (the rod from the keyed cylinder lock to the actuator) was on a bind......the solution I came up with is adding an additional 3/4" spacer between the factory mount bracket and the door attach point. this solved any binding and the door lock works great now........also I used a lubricant on all the doors where the rods run through the plastic guides, which seemed to help quite a bit! Hope this help's.

2002 chevy silverado 1500 door hinge pins

You will have to remove the old ones (a round punch of about 1/4" works well, then remove and replace parts (two punch up, two punch down). BE SURE you have the door supported with a block of wood under the door while doing this. It would help for two people to do it also, but not 100% necessary. Good Luck ALSO REMOVE THE LATCH THAT KEEPS THE DOOR FROM SWINGING ALL THE WAY OPEN, THAT WILL GIVE YOU BETTER ACCESS.
