1999 Jeep grand cherokee sounds like it's not getting gas. You can pump the gas, but won't turn over. The dashboard gages don't work either, yet there is plenty of juice.

I have a 1965 elcamino, not getting spark at plugs swapped plugs wires coil, distributor, won't start! Ideas?

Check power and ground at the coil. If there isn't any power there you will need to trace them both back to find the problem. If you have power at the coil, does the coil provide power to the distributor? If yes the either cap, points or distributor is bad. Check gap on points. Make sure point contacts are clean. Does the internals of the distributor turn when engine is turned over? All this has to work correctly for you to get spark.

Engine cranks but no start, no spark. What else can I check?

is it actually rotating when the engine turns over I know sounds stupid but I\'ve seen the teeth that goes inside against the cam break off on first turn over happened to me once on a Honda, also that same car my original problem was I was getting power and everything like you but the icm on the distributor was putting the power out on the ground side and the power turned to ground not allowing the distributor to do its job and produce spark

hope this helps

My Mazda 1989 just cut out when I accelerated , it turns over but doesn't start the fuels still going to the carburetor but the engines not starting

check that the distributor is turning over.(broken timing chain). Check that the coil lead is still firmly in the distributor cap and coil . check that the coil is getting power from the ignition switch check in the distributor cap for carbon dust that is shorting out the spark

MY HONDA DIED ON THE ROAD AND IT TURNS OVER BUT NO SPARK TO THE ENGINE... MY MECH IS HAVING A HARD TIME LOCATING THE PROBLEM...

Needs to check and make sure timing belt is not broken, if that checks good, more then likely it's going to be the ignition control module, sit in the distributor, also have him ohm ignition coil. but more then likely if timing belt is good, ignition module.

Distributor cap problems!!!!!

Doesnt turn over or doesnt start, big difference. The cap has nothing to do with turning over. Check battery terminals, ck if headlights operate. It it does indeed turnover, ck your wires and the coil wire. check if you have spark.

assuming you the coil, plugs, cap, rotor and wires are good. check the cam sensor, If you have 12 volts to the coil using a 12v light tester. The cam sensor responsible for sending info to the computer telling it that the cam is turning, then the computer tell the coil to dispurse the charge/sparks to the distributor as distributor distribute the sparks to each plugs from the rotor of the distributor. Replace the cam sensor, it tend to go bad over period of time.

Check to see if it has spark. It may be having a problem with the distributor. If you have put fuel to it to no avail, then you probably dont have spark. Could be the cap / rotor, the coil, the pickup in the distributor, or power going to the coil or distributor. Check for spark and if you dont have any, make sure you have power to the coil / distributor. If you do then try a new coil cap and rotor. Hardest part would be the pickup in the distributor if thats bad.
Heres a link to an article on the types of distributors and how to rebuild them.

Cant get any spark

You're not getting spark out of the ignition coil? Do you have power to the coil? What about ground? If you have spark from the coil to the distributer, but nothing coming out of the distributer, then check your cap and rotor.
