Re: Central lock not working from remote in Z3 1998
Stand beside it and hold the lock AND unlock buttons at the same time for about 5 seconds until you hear the locks "click" then you should be off to the races.... If that doesn't work, look inside the drivers manual, should be some literature about it in there

Check the fuse covering the central locking system to ensure it is sound. (refer owners manual for its location in your vehicle). If OK, disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and then reconnect and check the operation of the locking system with your key pad.
A flated battery would not affect the central lock. Mostly it is due to the improper fitting. The door locks are operated by a solenoid in each door. First check the fuse of the central lock. The fuse boxes are in engine compartment and inside the car under the steering wheel panel beside. In most cases, it is the fuse stall the car. If the fuse is OK, then check the electrical continuity. If you are not car machanic, let the proper car electric specialist to do it for you. For them, it is a very easy and quick job to do. Aso ckeck the battery in the remote if it is porperly fitted. You have to buy a Haynes Workshop Manual for Camry 2007-2011 PN 92009.
1) replace the old batteries and put a new ones. use the multimeter for test the voltage batteries. 2) clean the contacts batteries from oxide, corrosion, dirty, with alcohol isopropy 100% 3) open the keypads for clean to oxide, corrosion, etc and try again.
Check to see if your central locking still works on all doors and that you can also operate the driver's door central lock motor. This can sometimes be an issue with the door lock motors themselves and not necessarily the key.
Was the car battery disconnected before this central locking problem. Also is the central locking system operated by remote. If yes, then is the remote battery new or old.If the battery in remote is old then try with new battery. Also if the central locking is controlled by a push button in the car then it can be the problem with push button switch .The switch on driver side is got short. It has to be checked with meter to confirm the fault.Apply a direct 12 volt external battery to the switch and check if the central locking is getting done. Also confirm if you can lock the doors manually by using a car key.If you are not able to lock the door with key manually then its faulty door latch. But if the door lock and unlock manually with out any problem then this problem is related to central locking switch or the remote.
Hi I wonder if you can advise me ,my central locking and alarm is very unreliable it keeps making a beep before the ignition goes on and clicking,it sometimes sets the alarm off,Ive had the AA round and theyve told me the car battery is dead, which I appreciate, but think the key hub central locking or alarm is running the battery low does the hand held button need a new battery,or can I take the fuse out for the central locking, dont want to pay 66 quid for a new battery if I can pay 2 quid for a new battery for the central locking button,or demobilize it
fuse 56 and 57 control central locking, the issue is caused by surges typically in the front door lock actuators, normally at a dealer they would replace fuse 56 and 57 with a 20a mini fuse and if still occuring repl the door lock(s) that dont work or typically both front, first replace fuse 56 and 57 with 20a fuses as were too small from factory and than operate ten to 15 times, if it doesnt work at first dont panic, let the car go to sleep which takes about 16 min and than try again this problem has nothing to do with the key fob or the lock unlock button inside, also the fuses are located behind the glove box just rere the access panel and they are found at lower left section
if your talking about locking with the remotes.try reprogramming them.cycle the ignition key from run to off 8 time within 10 seconds ending in the run position.the horn should honk.now you are in programing mode.hit the lock button on the first remote then hit the lock button on the second remote.and tunr the key off
