Question about 1990 Honda Accord
Was on the parkway when slowly started losing power, engine idled rough, then finally stalled altogether. Changed spark plugs (NGK G Power), wires, cap, rotor, still rough idle and have to rev high to keep from stalling in gear. Pulled plugs and cylinders 1 and 2 have oil on them and 3 and 4 don't. A friend of mine said I m may have a bad head gasket leaking oil in the cylinders? I have no coolant in the oil or vice versa. I had the car for a year almost and I knew it always burned oil, but it always ran well with full power. Just a little smoky when I gunned it I only used high test gas so I don't think it's a fuel problem.Help!
Check the compression in suspect cylinders. oil could be comming from the valve seals. check the oil level fuel may be contaminating it. oil should feel a little thick with no odor of gasoline. check the firing order its easy confuse wires when changing cap/rotor.

Ok.....as far as the oil on them it is possible it is only the spark plug tube seals located on the inside of the valve cover,in fact if you can remember when you took the old plug wires off the boots of a couple propably had oil on them.now as far as the real problem I would recommend checking the timing belt it is possible it jumped time, its pretty simple just remove the valve cover(gonna replace the seals anyways)and top timing cover.roll the engine around and look for the cam and crank marks.if you need anymore suggestions or help let me know have a good day DB
