My 2000 Daewoo Nubira leaks oil from engine

The leaks seem to come from different places. I suspect the PCV valve is plugged and causing the problem. Where is it located? I cannot find it. Help....

I would think that if the PCV valve were actually plugged, there may be enough pressure build-up to unseat the thing, which would cause most oil leaking from crankcase pressure to exit via the hole left where the PCV was. Just a guess. How many miles on this Nubira?

When starting toyota fortuner 3.0 liter blowing blue smoke what is causing this

It is oil smoke. The most common causes are worn valve guide seals, a faulty PCV valve, or, worn or broken oil control rings on the pistons. Only 1 or 2 cylinders need be at fault.

Check the PCV valve for fouling. Have a compression test done. If readings are low or irregular, pour a few ccs of engine oil into the suspect cylinders thru the plug holes. If compression readings then improve, it is probably the rings at fault.

Less common causes are worn big end bearings spraying excessive oil up the cylinder walls, or a leak from the head gasket, oil to cylinder.

Its sputtering and blowing smoke out of the tailpipe. whats the problem?

Hello! #1 question; Is the Check Engine Light (CEL) on? This means the computer has stored a fault and in order to troubleshoot the cause I'll need the code...Take the vehicle to an auto parts store and, for free, they will read the code...Send it to me...

If the CEL is not on; Pull the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve...Give it a shake...If you do not hear the little ball that lives inside rattling around; you have found the fault...Replace PCV valve...
See photo below...The PCV valve is located in the rear valve cover, just behind the throttle body

I have a 89 F150 how can I cause my transmission to shift fasterit seems very slow ,and where is the PCV located on this engine V6 -4.9, thx

PCV valves on engines that old will be found plugged into a valve cover. looks like a thumb sized item with a vacuum hose attached to the top. do yourself a favor and get a new piece of hose and a new grommet which fits into the valve cover. PCV valves are simple little critters, can be cleaned by a good soak in gasoline, and problems with them usually relate to vacuum leaks at each end.

for the ****** use some magic fluid like marvel or lucas found at parts stores, along with a fluid and filter change. you are not going to do any real maintenance or repair on a ****** that old. you just rebuild it.

MY SUZUKI GET TOO MUCH WHITE SMOKE,BUT I HAVE PUT ENGIN FLUSH, CHANGE THE OIL AND THE OIL FILTER,ADD ANTISMOKE TO FUEL BUT NO CHANGES PLEASE!!!

There has been an issue of Suzuki engines smoking due to the PCV. valve or the baffles under the valve cover. One method of curing this is to place an oil separator between the vacuum line from the intake and the PCV. This will make for the need to keep an eye on it as it will fill up with oil eventually thus negating the purpose of placing it there in the first place. I think the big fix would be to remove the valve cover and check the oil baffles and filter therein. The problem is that oil builds up at the location of the PCV and is getting sucked into the intake via the vacuum hose to the intake. The quick fix? unplug the PCV and plug up the vacuum hose to the intake. This will get you by until you can get it to a mechanic. Anyway, That what I know. hope it helps

Poor acceleration and loss of power

If the engine mechanically is good ---no knocking or piton-slapping noises--chances are your engine breather system is plugged up.----possibly plugged up in the valve cover---the tube or hole where the PCV valve is located in the valve cover. check the PCV valve too --when you sake it you should hear it rattle.
To check the valve cover without taking it off --remove the PCV valve and with a piece of hose inserted in it's place inthe valve cover try blowing thru it---( with engine off ) if you can not then remove the valve cover and manually unplug the blockage.

1998 Ford Explorer sport 4.0L 4x2 PCV Valve Location

the pcv is located on the rear(firewall) of the drivers side valve cover.turn counterclockwise and pull to remove be careful there are 2 small tabs inside the pcv hole in the valve cover(can feel with small finger) this is to hold valve in place so it wont leak.if you have a oil leak at the pcv a quick fix is to put a small amount of silicone around the pcv o-ring and install.wait hours for silicone to set up.
