Question about 2000 Ford Taurus
Sometimes when driving, the car feels like it isn't getting gas anymore. The car starts slowing down, no warning lights on the dash, I can mash down the gas pedal and the engine revs but doesn't do anything. I have to pulll off the side of the road, put the car in neutral for a few minutes and then everything is fine. I just replaced alternator thinking that was the problem. Just would like to get some information
If your in gear (D) for example and you hit the gas, engine revs, but car doesn't speed up, it's a problem with your transmission, and the first thing you can do is have the fluid level checked, and add fluid if needed. If that's not the cure, take it to a transmission shop & have it diagnosed.
