Yes they do have shocks, but you need a spring compressor to properly and safely remove them.

its on the main power supply board.
and there are 2 fuses.

Have a 1989 xj6 vdp, it shows a check engine 3. The car cranks and sounds as if it want to turn over but doesn't. What could it be.

Changing fuel filter XJ6 1995. Where is it located? Car begins to choke at 65mph/100km but is fine at speeds less than this.


The fuel filter is mounted in a bracket underneath the body by the left hand side rear shock absorber above the drive shaft.

the strut/spring is one assembly that comes out as one unit.
The 1989 XJ6s'(USA) had self leveling hydraulic suspension. Is your
new strut correct or has your car been retrofitted to conventional shocks?

1995 Jag XJ6 Rear Issues...need to fix ASAP.


My 1994 Vanden Plas makes the same noise. I know I need rear shocks. You do also!! Have the rear shocks replaced. Bilstein part number B46 1858 or Koni part  number 30 1377. Actually the Bilstein is the better shock and less expensive.
