Question about 2002 Isuzu Axiom

I have a 200 Pontiac Sunfire when I put the car in gear it takes it a little bit of time to actually go into gear. I have seen that there is some fluid leaking out. What do I do?

I am guessing that you have an automatic transmission. If the fluid that is leaking is pinkish in color, it is tranny fluid and you will need to fix the leak first. Once you fix the leak and top it up with fluid, I'm thinking that your shift problem should be fixed because it sounds like it is low on fluid.

I am thinking that you have an automatic transmission so if the fluid that os leaking is pinkish in color, your shifting problem is from low tranny fluid. You must fix the leak first and then top up your tranny fluid. That should probably fix your shifting problem

What is a normal temperature for my 2003 pontiac sunfire. is 90 too high

It should fall between 200 and 250 degrees F, I take it when you say 90, that means 90 degrees Celsius, that equates to 194 degrees F.

You are within range, actually running little bit cooler, which is GREAT!

How much transmission fluid does a 1998 sunfire gt 4 speed auto take? I've changed the oil and don't know for sure how much to put back in?

3.8 in the pan and about 6-8 liters in the tran if it is a downstairs check plug then its is pritty easy to check. There is a little 11ml bolt on the right side of the tran pan that you pull out while the car is running and in park if fluid comes out your good, if not top it up cycle the gears and try again. best of luck

Sunfire gt will not go into gear

It sounds like a bad clutch or clutch cable that is either stretched or out of adjustment! Or a hydrolic clutch line that has gone bad!

My 2000 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2 5 speed wont move ahead.

you may have pulled the lines from the slave cylinder a tiny bit and 1 may have cracked i'd check the lines to your slave cylinder first for leaks, 2 plastic lines going inside the transmission on the drivers side near the front of the trans..

Engine Swap

There are several engines that will fit the 2.2l Ecotec, 2.4L high out put motor, and I have actually seen a chevy cavalier that has a 3800 V6 in it if you want to go all out but in most cases sticking with the ecotec motor or the 2.4 High Out Put motor would be best they are two of the best motors for these cars and since the Sunfire is basically the same car as the cavalier almost any thing motor wise is inner change able between cars depending on the motors i own an 2004 chevy cavalier LS sport and a buddy of myn has a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and both have the 2.2L Ecotec and are both Manual trans and even most of the interior parts are the same except for some of the dash board components hope this helps you out
