in a 2000 buick century you do not have remove the fuel tank.in the trunk remove the rug behind the seat and you will find an oval panel with screws remove the panel and you have plenty of room to remove the fuel pump. this is an access panel for this purpose. the only reason a mechanic will tell you the tank has to be removed is to charge you more for labour.
i know this for a fact because i have changed a few of these and i have never removed the tank.
as far as i know 2007 and newer models have this access panel. any models earlier than this just check under the trunk rug for the access panel.

How to fix my gas gauge on my 1988 Buick Century

Could be a number of things.
The fuel sender could be at fault not sending any voltage to the gauge. One way to check this would be to find the signal cable under the rear passenger seat, short them together and see if the gauge moves.
If not that then the gauge could be borked

Buick Century 2000 gear shifter moves freely will not start

Sounds like your shift cable came unhooked or just plain Broke, it hooks to shifter and hooks to transmission, If it moves freely I would say it's Broken, and that is why car won't start cause it is still in drive

Gas gauge quit working. Is there a fuse or sensor?

It sounds like your Fuel Level Sending Unit, usually located with the Fuel Pump inside the gas tank, has gone out. The Fuel Level Sending Unit sends the signal to your ECU, and then it goes to the Fuel Level gauge. Replace the Fuel Level Sending Unit and your gauge should be back to normal.

2000 buick century custom. fuel gauge fluctuates between empty and 1/2 when level falls below 1/2 tank. low fuel light works. problem sending unit (how hard to change), gauge, or other?

The sender unit has a fine resistance wire with a slider to read the level, the slider or wires are worn and making intermittent contact, the low fuel light is a seperate switch so it will still work.access to the sender is usually under the rear seat cushon, under the soundproofing and a cover, have a look and describe what you have .

2000 Buick Century gas gauge reads full all the time

You're either looking at a short in the wire that goes to the fuel sender, or a bad fuel sender. If it was just a broken wire, it would read empty instead. The fuel sender is a permanent part of the fuel pump, so that has to be replaced as a unit.

None of the instruments in the cluster work (Gas gauge, speedomot

It is possible that the connector came off the back of the circuit board behind the speedometer. Do the lights work IN the speedometer and gauges? Could also be that the ground wire loosened up under the dash, usually on the drivers side. Just some suggestions that I thought might help. Best wishes to you.
