Replace ignition key lost key

I replaced the ignition on my truck. There should be a plastic shroud on the bottom of the steering column. Locate the screws and remove it. Then see if there is a small hole that a small diameter screwdriver can fit into. This should allow the ignition switch to be removed.

Ignition switch won't shut off on my 92 olds cutlass

Your 1992 Cutlass was the last model year not to require the drivers side air bag...You can access the ignition switch (needs replaced) by removing the steering will need a puller to do this is more than you want to do...many local locksmith shops offer this service...much less costly than a dealership...plenty of parts for your pristine Olds Cutlass are available...:) Hope this helps...

Need to remove ignition 1998 cutlass olds....ignition on dash...not on steering wheel

you will need to pop out the lighted ring around the switch, remove the radio and uder dash panels on the driver side near the ignition, this should give you enough room to change the lock which is held in with 2 10mm polts, you will need to program the car to the key after the lock is changed.

I have lost the key to my 1998 oldsmobile cutless. I am trying to find out how to hot wire or any other way to get the car started.

You have 2 options. The first is to talk to a GM dealer. You can give them the info they need and they can usually make a key for you.
The other option is to replace the ignition tumbler with a new one, and new keys.
Without the ignition key you can not unlock the steering lock.
You would have to pull the ignition lock, and then find the starter relay to actually start the car.
Please let me know how it goes.
