i also have a 92 trooper that was doing the same thing for about 3 or four months and then it died on me just yesterday. im still looking for a new ecm for it as that seems to be the conclusion by process of elimination. ive replaced the crankshaft sensor, had the dealer test the ignition control module, cleaned the egr valve, tested the catalytic converter, and replaced the map sensor. hopefully the ecm will be the solution because until i find it ive got no transportation!

good advice is to always run the fault codes when the engine is playing up. After all that is what they are there for. They save so much money and frustration. So run the fault codes and fix the faulty sensor .

My mazda 1992 mx3 it runs great cold but after warm up it spits and sputters and runs rich can you help please what could it be

Hi,

This sounds like you have a faulty coolant sensor switch which is telling your computer that the engine is still cold.

Replace this and you should fix this problem.

Thanks

After 150-200 miles, spits and sputters on

Clean throttle body, change fuel filter, plugs, and definately plug wires.

Egr seems to be common problem with these.

2001 Monte Carlo Intermitten no start

No crank or cranks but won't fire? Does it spit and sputter and try or not even try to start when cranking? Does this happen when the engine is warm, cold, or both

Where is the valve located to check for fuel pressure on 93 Troop

If yours has that valve it should be on the fuel rail (looks like an a/c charge port), you don't just press to see if there is fuel. you need to put a gauge on the fitting and read actual pressure (10lbs will squirt, but can you tell the difference between 10 and 35lbs?)
