Question about 2002 Honda Accord

1 Answer

I lost my 2002 Honda Accord ignition key.

I called the dealer and they told me I must tow my car to their facility to have my car rcoded to new keys. They are requiring all kinds of documentation before they will make the keys. Is there another way to get new keys for this car?

I called AAA. The guy left without doing anything 'cuz he said I didn't have proper registry information.

I didn't have registration in my car, even though the current registration sticker's on the window and I had signed documents from point of sale. It shouldn't be so hard to get new keys!

I've lost my keys to my 2004 Chrysler Sebring. Is there anyway to starty car without it?

No. The key has a chip in it and no other key will work. You have two choices, both are expensive.

First is have your Sebring towed to your dealer, they will look up you VIN and cut two new keys and then program them to your car.

The second (and this may be a little cheaper) is to find a local locksmith in your area, that can cut Chrysler keys, to come to your car, cut two new keys and then program them to your car.

Can't offer an accurate price but I would imaging the dealer cost will be in the $300 range (plus towing). Need to call around and get prices.

I have a 2004 Mazda Tribute 6 cylinder all time 4 wheel drive and wondering, can it be flat 4 towed behind a motorhome?

Towing this vehicle will depend on the type of transfer case the vehicle is equipped with. I would suggest calling your dealer and asking them or a reputable transmission repair facility for their opinion to be on the safe side

My girlfriend has a 2005 Saab 93, it's gving her problems , when we put the key fob in the ignition it says "key not accepted" .."contact Saab dealer" the key won't turn at all, can't even lock the car, or...

sounds like the fob quit working.....need a new fob. Some ace hardware stores can make a new saab fob key cheaper then the dealer though, call the dealer first to get a price and their feedback if it is a keyfob issue

Hi i have a porshe 911 2009 i lost 1 key and other one is now broken how can i programe a new key which i got from the dealer

This key shouldn't need programming, not from the dealer. And if it does for some reason the dealer should have told you this. I work with alot of different cars and some keys need programmed some don't. Some of the ones that do need programmed , the dealer will tell you the procedure or that it has to be towed to the dealership and programmed there. You may have gotten the wrong key. ie.. chip in it

Well, there is 2 way, one call a tow truck to bring it to the dealer (Yuck, expensive) or call a locksmith, he should be able to generate a key for your car including the remote control if required..

I just changed the battery in my 2002 honda accord and now the alarm keeps going off. i did what the manual told me to about putting the ignition key in the door and unlock it then lock it back then unlock...

The remote has lost the ability to communicate with car. Put the key on the ignition, press on the remote (button for unlocking) and dont let go, turn the ignition to the #2 position (radio on) and you should see the key emoticon flashing in the dashboard, then let go of the remote button. repeat operation just to make sure. If you have a spare remote, do the same. This applies to the PRESTIGE alarm system, will probably work on superlock too, if your Accord has that option.
