Question about 2002 Honda Accord

1 Answer

I lost my 2002 Honda Accord ignition key.

I called the dealer and they told me I must tow my car to their facility to have my car rcoded to new keys. They are requiring all kinds of documentation before they will make the keys. Is there another way to get new keys for this car?

I called AAA. The guy left without doing anything 'cuz he said I didn't have proper registry information.

I didn't have registration in my car, even though the current registration sticker's on the window and I had signed documents from point of sale. It shouldn't be so hard to get new keys!

I just changed the battery in my 2002 honda accord and now the alarm keeps going off. i did what the manual told me to about putting the ignition key in the door and unlock it then lock it back then unlock...

The remote has lost the ability to communicate with car. Put the key on the ignition, press on the remote (button for unlocking) and dont let go, turn the ignition to the #2 position (radio on) and you should see the key emoticon flashing in the dashboard, then let go of the remote button. repeat operation just to make sure. If you have a spare remote, do the same. This applies to the PRESTIGE alarm system, will probably work on superlock too, if your Accord has that option.

1992 Honda Accord starting problem

you need to get a honda dealer to code the key(s)to the car.otherwise it will turn over and die each time you try to start it.(some cars have matching ecm/ignition switches)it would have been easier to tell your local honda dealer the chassis no and they would then have supplied the keys to your car.then coded them.

Lost ignition key.. How do you start 2002 highlander without the ignition key so that i can get it to the dealer for a new key

If you bought the vehicle new, there was a little metal tag on it with numbers. Bring that tag to the dealer and they can get you a new key, other wise call AAA and have it towed, you don't want to take any chances of messing something up. Check your owners manual, if you didn't buy it new, maybe the original owner left the tag in there.

How do I get the cylinder out of the ignition switch. I have lost the key and the steering wheel is locked. This is on a 1991 Honda Accord.

You might try going to OR calling the HONDA dealer with your V.I.N. and see if he can cut you a key. You may have to prove ownership for them to do this...

Lost my key to my honda accord 2002; any idea how to get a new one asap?

Call the dealer where you purchased the vehicle. They key a record of the key codes on file. Once you have the code, you can get one made. If it is a key with a security chip, there is a relearn process you will have to go through in order for the car to start.
Good luck.

Program my Honda accord Key

I've not heard of Brake Codes working on the 3rd or 4th generation Rolling Code Sidewinder Keys. There is simply no reason to, since a Honda Tech can simply access the Immobilizer System through the HDS (Honda Diagnostic System Laptop) with the Daily Access Security code providec by the Honda System. He can even reflash (reprogram) the ECM using this Daily Code.

In a case like this, normally Honda will have the Accord towed in and do a "All Keys Lost" reset with a new set of keys. This will also prevent your "Lost keys" from being used in the future by who ever may find them.

If you ever buy a used Honda at a Honda Dealership, most likely they also did a complete Key code reset just in case to protect you.

How to fix a 98' honda accord LX key without remote?

no its not that most likely its faulty ignition circuit but there is no magic fix you'll need to have it troubleshot get an obdII scan from a local repair shop its a sure shot way to find problem if not and you want to save some money on the tow you can purchase a scanner at your local parts store for about the same price as the tow and scan at shop.
