Dealer needs to give you the code, unless its in the documentation you recieved for the car. you will have to prove ownership to the dealer, but itsx not a big deal

1:turn ignition on but do not start

Vw polo classic radio stucked in safe mode even after entering the radio code? i tried it over n over again nd it goes through the same process of safe1 nd safe2 respectively? plz help

If you kept putting in the code and it went into Safe mode...did you not consider that the code was wrong?
Every time you put in the wrong code, the stereo will lock you out for longer each time...in fact, some units will never work again unless specialist replaces security chip.
You need to verify the stereo code by either using a code cracker...ebay...or..go to your local trusted Garage and let them sort it for you.

My battery died and now that I put a new battery my stereo is stuck on a safe mode, how do I unlock it?

You should have a code that came with the owners manual to put in the stereo, if not you`ll have to call dealer for instructions.

Need to unlock 99 Beetle stereo!!

Hi, this is a common problem when people buy second hand cars and disconnect the battery to work on the car, they put the battery back on and find out the code needs putting in the stereo.

The problem is unless the original owners wrote it down in side the owners manual the only other option is take your car to the main dealers and they will then give you the code you need to take the car with you and maybe the log book they wont give this info out over the phone just in case the stereo has been stolen.

Their is no other way of getting this code as they dont give them out and as the codes are totally random their is no way of writing a program to hack these codes.

Sorry their is no easy fix for this but the upside is they wont charge you for giving you the code but you need to take the car with you then when they give you the code write it down in case you need it in the future or if you sold the car pass this info on to the new owner as they should have passed this on to you.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Saving the code

Did you or someone put the stereo in?Or is it the original factory radio? If it is a new installation you missed a wire that is 12volts all the time weather the car is on or off that holds the memory.

Red light on will not work on the front driver side

do the doors lock and unlock correctly? if yes could be just a bad led bulb. if alarm doesn't work now have the aftermarket radio removed and disconnected. the computer on car monitors the radio so when an aftermarket unit is installed it will mess with the stock computer. VW makes us disconnect aftermarket radios before we are allowed to hook up diagnostic computer because of the problems that occur

Re sitting the radio in my VW golf

The number buttons on the stereo change the code, so push the 1 button 3 times for 3, 2 button 1 time for 1, and so on. If your code was 2255, you'd hit the 1 button 2 times, the 2 button 2 times, the 3 button 5 times, and the 4 button 5 times. When the code is displayed on the screen, you press Mode and Scan at the same time AND HOLD THEM until the radio unlocks. It'll let you know if it's the right number.
