Where is fuel cutoff or reset switch on 2008 kia sportage

"Here is what you do: The auto fuel cutoff switch is located on the passenger's side of the engine compartment. In the event of a collision or sudden impact, the auto fuel cutoff device cuts off the fuel supply. If this device is activated, it must be reset by pressing in on the top of the switch before the engine can be restarted.

Wont start

The only reset switch is the a fuel pump cutoff (inertia) switch located in the trunk near the driver's side rear wheel well. You'll see it if you peel the carpet back a bit - it's the red button in the black housing. However, that won't keep it from cranking.

Do you have an aftermarket remote car starter or alarm system? If so, start looking at that first - you may have an immoblizer switch in the hood. It's designed to keep you from starting your car when the hood is up. If it fails, it could keep your car from cranking. You may also have a "hidden" immobilizer switch somewhere in your car, typically under the dash.

Check your fuses/relays, including the ones under the hood. Your owners manual will tell you which are which.

2003 explorer sport won't start

Check for fuel in several ways. Pressure at the test port of the fuel rail. Or use starting fluids to see if the engine starts or hits like it now gets fuel.

If it acts like it needs gas, the fuelpump cutoff switch is behind the kickpanels by either the driver or passengers side. Engineers can not pick 1 side and stick with it year to year.

The switch has a reset button that is pressed and that is all that needs to be done. It is an impact sensor and can activate with the right frequency of doorslam, hoodslam or cargo hatch slam.

Is there a fuel reset button on my 1996 monti carlo?

Fuel cutoff switches is a Ford thing.Verify 12 volts to the connector at the sending unit in the tank(PCM will run pump for 2 seconds when key turned to "run").If you get 12 volts, and the pump dosen't run when the connector is hooked back up,the pump is bad.

Won't start

check for fuel cutoff switch reset button. these are designed to shut off fuel in case of accident but they will some times be activated on blowout or even when you hit a pothole or speed bump. your local parts house can tell you its exact location, should be in rear window washer compartment or glovebox.

Is there a reset button on this fuel pump

CHEVY DOESN'T USE A FUEL PUMP RESET/CUTOFF SWITCH, FORDS USE THIS FEATURE, ON A CHEVY IT IS DONE WITH THE OIL PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH, SO IF U LOOSE OIL PRESSURE THE FUEL PUMP CUTS OFF, THIS OIL PRESSURE FUEL PUMP CUTOFF SWITCH AND IT'S WIRING ARE NEAR THE OIL FUILTER UNDER THE TRUCK.

I replaced ignition switch and it will no longer start.

I have a 97 cavalier, and when i changed by switch it activated the factory security system. The resolve i was given was simple, first turn the car over til it starts when it dies do not turn the key off for at least 10 minutes,or until the security light goes off. when this happens the system has reset itself with the new switch. hope this works for you, sometimes it takes 3 times before it works just remember to be patient. Mine reset the 2 time.

Just to confirm: your car has the "FS" engine - 1991cc double overhead cams?
built on the Mazda "GE" platform?
does your car have an "engine check light" or "MIL" on the dashboard? if so where and what does it look like and what does do ? ie: comes on when ignition is turned on & goes out after engine starts. or comes & goes out after x seconds. etc etc
are you 5sp manual or auto trans?

does your car have a diagnostic plug with a flip open lid just behind the battery near the front left suspension tower?
