Did you have any symptoms of a fault before this happened ? Did the gearbox feel as though it was slipping / engine revs but no power- movement ? Are there any lamps lit up on the dash ? Have you had any work carried out prior to this problem ?

You need to give as much information as possible.

Try the simplesr first is the transfer lever actually in high or low if they dont get used much they get very stiff it may have got knocked into neutral by accident hence no drive give it a good shove back and forwards until you are sure it is high box

My battery died on my 96 land rover disco and now i can't even jump start it the alarm keeps going off. Also changed my fuses but my brake lights keep going out what do i do

you've got to get the truck to a dealer so they can disable the alarm with their computer. also have them diagnose the bad wiring it sounds like you've got with the lights, which is a good culprit for draining your battery.

Land Rover Discovery 1998 runs great but suddenly it changes

If the engine is revving but the car doesn't move faster , I would be looking at the clutch or Gearbox.Sounds like the clutch is slipping.
Have your mechanic check it out.
Hope this helps.

Shaking uphill

If this Land Rover has an Automatic transmission or if you are using full time four wheel drive the problem is in the chain driven transfer case. You need a transmission rebuild.

Dome Light issue on 1995 Land rover Disco

Check the door switches for the interior lights and tighten the screws holding these on to make a good earth contact.Knock the door locks lightly with a hammer to get the insides loosened up and lube these with a penetrating spray.

Dash light and tail lights not working

The dash and tail lights are controled by the first "click" of the headlight switch found on the turn signal arm.

If the fuses are good, then your turn signal arm has failed.

First click is running lights (dash and outside marker lights), second is headlights.

The 1st position of the 2 position switch has contacts internally that have worn and no longer complete the circuit.

Replace the turn signal arm.
