the oil pump is located inside the oil pan. removing the motor will be needed to do the job unless you got a new way to open the oil pan with everything in the way. if you have really low or no oil pressure. or after driving for a few miles the pressure drops a lot. the bearings could also be gone and that is going to need to be address with the motor out. other option is get a junkyard motor and replace it. but you never know what could be wrong with that motor. try to hear the engine run if possible
Most likely the oil pump light will come on if the oil pressure is low. This light is based on a pressure sensor. Your oil pump is likely not operating to deliver the required pressure. Check that your pump is installed properly.
Ihave a 2000 Dodge Durango i have put a new radiator and the gaskets came back good um i replaced the coolen fan also the thermostate and tested it it it came back good when i run it its fine but when i am in line its hot when i drive it cools down........
What engine in your Durango? Most likely you have debris on your oil pan clogging the pickup screen, or a failing pump. Be sure to verify with a mechanical pressure gage that oil pressure is indeed dropping before you take oil pan off.
Hi. this sounds like the oil pressure sending unit may be malfunctioning. could be a bad module or a lose connection. the second issue that may be the primary issue can be a faulty oil pump. you will find the problem in these two areas.
