I cant get the hood release to unlock on my porsche 1998 boxster

I had a low battery. Jumped started the battery and drove it. The air spoiler was up and did not retract. The car sat and the battery went dead. The hood and trunk release are locked now because the air spoiler is in the up position. The battery is completely dead and I CANNOT get the hood open to get to the battery. Every thing , including the gas cap is locked.

You need to have the airbag serviced as there is an error somewhere. it also means that the airbag will not deploy in an accident, so you should get this looked at by someone with experience troubleshooting airbag problems asap.

Have 1999 boxter with dead batt. need to open hood to charge. can you tell me how? thanks, phil

Some remote battery starters, in addition to battery clamps, also have a separate cig. lighter male plug. Inserting this will give you enough juice to reset the alarm and then open the trunk. There are also two terminals down by the manual spoiler switch (in the driver's footwell) that can be wired to a separate battery to do the same.

1998 porsche boxster, battery is dead on car, and

This is a common problem. Your alarm was on when the battery went dead. When the alarm activated, the hood/bonnet opening lever locks to prevent thieves from opening the hood in case the top is down. Some boxsters have a jumper post the pulls out near the fuse box. However, I do not think the 1997-1999s have this post.

Buy a male-to-male cigarette lighter adapter at the auto store. Connect between your car's cigarette lighter socket and the other car's cigarette lighter socket. Do not try to start the ignition or the any other electronics. You should not even need the key in the ignition. You should be able to pop the door locks with the remote and open the bonnet.

Car stood for over a week, unlocked via key in door, rear spoiler raised, spoiler and airbag fault messege on screen. Car will not start

Sounds like a bad battery. Do not lock or unlock the doors until you verify the battery is good. If the alarm was on when the battery went dead, you may not be able to open the bonnet to jump the battery. The 1999 Boxster does not have a red jumper post on the fuse box. You may need to hook a male-to-male cigarette lighter between the car and another car. Do not try to start the car with the cigarette lighter connect. When charged, you should be able to reset the alarm and open the bonnet. You may will need to reset your radio when the battery is replaced: http://www.a2dvoices.com/realitycheck/porsche/

Porsche 2005 2.7 boxster flat battery?

Reach over the drivers side front tire in wheel well.  Reach around trim in upper wheel well to find a cable, running front to back, pull toward you and it should release the front hood.  Previous owner showed me this emergency release in case battery goes dead and I have recently had to use it myself on my 1998 Boxster.
