This just worked for me. Leave the car ignition and radio on but engine off, first position, for 2+ hours until it says code. Hold the preset 6 down while pressing the volume and power button at the same time to turn it off. Keep holding the preset 6 button. Then while still holding the preset 6, push the volume and power buttons again and that should solve the radio problem.

You have to have a dealer or authorized repair facility contact the mfr to get the code. you will more than likely need proof of ownership.

I unhooked the battery and upon replacement of the battery the radio is not working

If the stereo has CODE written across the screen you need to enter the security code which is usually on a plastic credit card style card which is found in the owner service and manual pack. Or it may just be written somewhere in the pack.

2008 Mitsubishi eclipse radio not working after battery change

Unfortunately in newer vehicles, they sometimes need to have the computer re-flashed IF you unhook the battery with the radio on. It's a crummy deal. The dealership will probably have to re-flash the computer. You could try turning the stereo off, then disconnect the cables on the battery for a minute, then re-connect and POSSIBLY it could reset the system and it may work again. Don't get your hopes up, this may not fix it.

just replace it with a aftermarket stereo and dont forget to get both harness for easy diy install.thats what i did and it works fine & the best thing about it is i dont ever need a code again.

Just put new battery in my 2001 Saturn and now I can't get my stereo to play. Please help

If it is a factory stereo,you have to call a Saturn dealer and they will give you a code to unlock.I don't know if the automatically tell you how to do it so you may have to ask.Write it down too because it will happen every time the battery gets disconnected and sometimes it needs to be even though they aren't working on your battery.Good luck! you should be ok the only problem you might have is if the stereo has a code on it then when you fit the new battery it may ask for this code

Stereo is asking for code

That means it needs a pass code to be entered to operate. It is a security feature to deter theft of the stereo.

If you do not know your pass code, check the user manual for a factory default one.
If you cannot do that, then try this to reset it;

Put key in the ignition and turn to "run" do not start it.
Leave it in that position for 30 minutes. Check to see if it is no longer prompting you for a pass code.

Theft system

unhook the battery for about 15 minutes and hook it back up... that should reset it... if your stereo is anti-theft as well... make sure you know the code for it and how to enter it.

Looking for 96 Honda Civic Radio Code

You just have to go to a dealer and get one, they shouldn't charge you for it. Every time the battery is unhooked the stereo will need the code again, so try and get them to give it to you and not just put it in for you.
