I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT IS THE OXYGEN SENSOR--BUT THERE WAS AN EMIISIONS CONTROL RECALL ON THE 1996 SEVERAL YEARS BACK, MAYBE THAT OULD BE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

Engine starting to run hotter

Either the thermostat or perhaps electric fan are my first thoughts. I assume there's no signs of distress from the water pump, but if no leaks or noises then that's prob ok

05 Nissan Quest sputtering when breaking and service engine light came on

Have the fuel pressure tested to see if your pump is still performing at optimum. The test takes about 20 minutes, and will confirm if the pump and pressure regulator are doing their job.

Evap code for 1996 Nissan pickup

All you have been doing is clearing the check light on dash &
clearing the obd codes, not diagnosing anything related to
the codes or trying to solve the problem

The Evap Monitor will run when ever it should, based on how
that is programmed into the vehicles computer,no need to drive
80 miles or any miles

You should have a codes for the Evap Problem, if you stop clearing them & that also has nothing to do with an EGR Issue
