Go to a reputable auto alarm installation shop and have their best man check your wiring harness. It sounds to me that someone installed an alarm system on your truck in the past and hacked into the OBD II system ( the computer controller for your engine) Just a hunch but my gut feelings are seldom wrong LOL Yours Truly, TarsTarkas of Evony na30
You should have 5, O2 sensors on your Sirera. What are the DTC codes, each codes will indicate which O2 sensor needs to be addressed, or is this an answer with someone guess what the check engine light is saying.
Thye check engine light could be from a bad O2 sensor to just a bad or loose gas cap to a transmission issues.
Thank you for using fixya and note that Auto Zone and most larger auto parts store will scan DTC codes free of charge.
this is OBD 2 and u will need a scan tool to access trouble codes, this system started in 96, on old pre 96 system u could blink the check engine light and get the code. U CAN GO TO ANY KRAGEN OR AUTOZONE AND THEY WILL TEST THE SYSTEM FOR TROUBLE CODES FOR FREE.
