I have a 1989 Jeep Wrangler 4X4 standard can I make it into an Automatic?

Yes you can. You would have to get the correct tranny for it and all the linkage to the tranny and the floor shifter. You should just keep the manual tranny. It will serve you better and for more miles than an automatic. The cost to switch to an auto would not be worth the price. Most people would rather have a manual in a jeep if they use it for it's intended purpose.

look for a broken feed wire somewhere ,sorry i have no product knowledge to tell you where to look first ,but under bonnet is often a fuse box with the big main fuses that feed the fuse box inside the vehicle ,

Wrangler will not go into gear when the jeep is off


if transmission was good when engine is off you should be able to go through the gears. can also be stuck in between gears which you can fix by replacing worn shifter.

No spark on 1989 jeep 6 banger / sahara /automatic. Power to the coil but no spark..Grrrrrr


Check under the cap to make sure rotor is in good condition and turning while cranking,Also clean rotor contacts inside cap.

Possibly...you need to know engine size and if automatic or manual transmission. Check parts # and compare (at any parts house) If both have the same # they are compatible.

Vacuum lines at front axle are part of your 4x4 control system. When changing oil or doing anything under the vehicle, always good to take a look at them and make sure they are secure, and in good shape. This eliminates problems while on the road.
