Why does my ford bronco have no power when it is put into gear and also stalls out when engine is warm

Every time i put my bronco into gear the engine has no power and will stall out and die when at normal operating temperature, but the engine revs up just fine when in park or neutral, i did a full tune up and still nothing, any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

I spoke to a friend and he had the same problem, his coil was cutting out due to heat from the engine so he moved it to a different spot where there is no heat and problem solved

Everywhere i move it, it runs ok when the engine is cool, but it still does not have power but once the engine is warm then it will die out, i replaced the ECT sensor and still nothing the timing is also set correctly

You need to get a recon kit for the carburetor.

SOURCE: engine stall when put in gear

Try changing the fuel filter, and if that doesn't help, get back to me.

SOURCE: engine stalls oh warm days

change the electronic ignition module.try this as well.go to an electronics parts place and get a can of cold spray.mg chemicals or equivalent. \spray the module the -60 temp will take the heat out and if it runs, that is the problem. the heatsink compound on the back of the module dries out and it overheats.heat sink compound MUST be used when it is replaced .it is a special high heat di electric silicone based compound...

Stalls when put into gear

many things can cause this. the most common problem would be that the timing is slightly off. (fixed sometimes by adjusting the distributor) it could also be a bad fuel pump (or clogged fuel filter) this would allow enough fuel to run the engine in park but not enough to run the engine under stress. clogged air filter could also cause this (not allowing enough air into the cylinders). I would change the air filter and fuel filter. then crank the vehicle and slowly turn the distributor (finding the best idle position) then see what happens. lastly replace the fuel pump.

Engine stalls when put into gear , rpm goes up and down sometimes 450rpm and other times 750rpm. if it doesn't stall it runs fine.

sounds like the idle air control is either clogged with carbon or it is bad. take iac off and clean out the passage way to engine. do not put valve in any liquid, only the end of valve can be cleaned were valve is. do not push on valve while cleaning or the adjustment will be messed up.depending on the size of engine it should idle at about 650 to 700 rpms.I have a 3.1 and it idles at 650 rpms,

Cold starts ok warms up shakes and stalls

check engine coolant temperature when it gets warmer, or at operating temperature, and verify that the temperature gauge is showing warmed up to operating temperature. If the coolant temperature sensor tells the computer the engine is cold it will over fuel and miss and the engine will die. When cooled down it will run fine until it warms up. Also could be coil if it starts missing after warmed up.

1988 Bronco 2 stalling out.

have te ignition module and stator been replaced? that is the common cause of this, and yes the engine being out of time can cause this stall out, when you time the engine remember you must remove the timing shorting bar at the distributor connector to the TFI ignition module or the timing will be severely retarded

Engine stalls at stop lights and stop signs

sounds like the torque converter lock up might not be disengaging. You might also want to check for engine vacuum leaks. Does engine idle smoothly when in park or nuetral ? if the idle is good I would suspect torque converter problem.
