Not that hard you drop the exhaust and take the manifold off and replace it with a new one, you have to lubricate the bolts to get them out but anyone can do it

How to replace head gasket

Replacing a head gasket is not a DIY job, unless the person has plenty of experience, knowledge, and the proper tools. The fact that a you would even ask, "how to replace 91 honda civic head gasket?", would indicate that you should not try to do that repair.

To replace a head gasket you must remove the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, valve train, and then the head. This is very involved and requires disconnecting lots of sensors and the ignition system. The head must then be checked to see if it is warped, or cracked, and repaired if necessary. You must then know how to put all this back together and torque all the bolts in the proper sequence. This takes training and skill which the average shade tree mechanic does not have.

If you are dead set on DIYing it, get a vehicle specific repair manual and dig in. Good luck China OBD2 car diagnostic tools wholesale on CareUCar

98 cabrio 2.0 trying to find top dead center.have compression on both revolutions of cam

Of the cam? Is that a typo, because you want to be thinking the crankshaft. The crank turns two revolutions for every single revolution of the cam, the compression stroke and the exhaust stroke. You want to find TDC of the compression stroke. Unless your timing is really messed up, you should have NO compression on the exhaust stroke. The exhaust valve should be open as the piston comes up to TDC on the exhaust stroke. On the compression stroke as the piston starts to rise, a finger over the spark plug hole, you should feel a bit of pressure, and then just turn the crank on around to the zero mark-TDC. Now your cam sprocket should be on the mark, if timing is correct.
Good luck. I have a minor emergency, have to leave, but if you post back needing any more help or questions, I can answer in about 6-8 hrs. Lots of top-notch experts on here-some excellent mechanics. I'm just an old shade tree mech, so I don't get a lot of feedback-hint, hint. lol

When pushing down the pedal, the gears and pto is grinding more and more as time goes by. I adjusted the clutch pedal , but no help. Can this problem be fixed by a shade tree mechanic or do I need to take...

I am not a diesel mechanic, a tractor mechanic, or a shade tree mechanic. But, it sounds to me like it is time for a new clutch pack. Anyone with reasonable knowledge of simple mechanics can do this job at a much cheaper price than a professional diesel or tractor mechanic, but it can be a heavy duty job. I would weigh the differences in downtime of my equipment and the ability of my shade tree mechanic.

"Complicated" is a relative term. If you're a certified and trained Chrysler mechanic, it's only moderately complicated. If you're a shade tree mechanic, it's very complicated.

That depends on how handy you are, and if you have a good toolbox. It's pretty easy for most shade-tree mechanics.

1995 jeep grand cherokee loredo wont go pass 40 not the tranny.

Hissing noise and lack of power is classic converter failure. Hole in the headers likely started the problem. It was going faster before he fixed the hole because the exhaust had somewher to escape. Do the cat and youll be fine...Good luck and don't forget to post a rating!

A little bit of work is involved here. Don't attempt unless you have quite an assortment of tools. A lot has to come off to complete this repair. You need to be a better than a beginner mechanic to do this.
