your pump will some times leak from behind it or make a squilling sound most times , why do you think it may be bad, what is happening , do a pressure ck and see if it leaks out , is it overheating or anything be more specific so we can help
Not much info to go on, but: Most squeaking is from 3 sources. 1.) Water Pump Bearing. Get some water pump lubricant in there quick to avoid ruining that bearing. (about $3.00) 2.) Idler Belt Tensioner You may be able to lube the back side of this with WD-40, but too much is bad for the serpentine belt. 3.) Power Steering Pump, does not sound like you problem.
if it got the 3.4 in it it a walk in the park. take the belt off 4 pully bolts then 5 water pump bolts clean off old gasket then reinstell. look at water pump real good it only goes on 1 way. good luck. o brake the pully bolt loose before you take the belt off.and youll need a small pan to drain anti freeze it
the ac belt is sperate from the power steering belt.. sounds to me you need to replace the belts (both of them) but theres a idler pully in the middle of them all witch may have a bearing going out on it..i had to change mine at about 85,000.. when i had the belts off i spun the pully and it was excessivly stiff cause'n slipage and also a squel.. hope its not the alt, or water pump making the noise..they can run ya into some $$
