On my 2000 bville, all four of my windows came off. All four had the same problem. the upper and lower cables go around the pulleys then connect to a plastic piece connected to the track. This plastic piece breaks and lets the cable free. I fixed them all by removing motor assembly and reconnecting the cable with coat hangar wire. Kind of a redneck fix, I know, but beat paying 160 dollars per window for a new assembly that would probably break again!! Good luck!!

Rear window just got broke in rain storm. how do you replace it? it has the rear window defogger wires in it too.

Remove the trim thats around the window, run piano string between the body and the glass (wear gloves) that helps break the bond of the adhesive. Go to your local parts to get new adhesive, and your local junk yard should have glass (go to a yard that pulls the part for you, they cost about $80.00 used). I am not to sure how to do the hook-up for the defroster. Email at BIGT_WLM@JUNO.COM and I'll go into more details.

Bonneville 2000, window cable placement, where does it run, I need to replace it

Your window uses a window regulator unit & the unit will need to be replaced by removing the door panel and swapping it out. These aren't too tough but from time to time there is a need for a drill and a new bolt or two where rivets happen to be used. The window itself by way of an attached nylon support, bolts onto the sliding bracket that you are replacing with 2 bolts. When you look at the part, you will see that these don't use the standard nylon toothed cable as models previously did. I did check, you can find some great deals for the part & save a few $$$ on eBay. Item #110477833835, there are many listed. good luck

The cable has come off the front passenger window. Can't see how it hooks back onto lifting mechanism.

I had all four of my windows do this on my 2000 bville. There is a small plastic piece that hooks to both ends of the cable and slides up and down the rail to pull the window up and down. This plastic piece broke on all four of my windows and let the cable fall. I fixed it cheap though. I took apart each door and pulled out the motor/slide/pulley assembly and wired it back together with coat hanger wire. It was a lot of work, but beat paying 160 dollars per window for new assembly (that would probably break again!)

2001 Pontiac Bonneville power window problem

The window regulator cable has gone bad, the only fix is to replace the window regulator, there no repair kit for the cable.

Cannot get the rear window to stay up . the drivers side rear window slides down as I drive.

Either the window fell off the track or the motor is faulty. You will most likely have to remove the screws and then pry off the door panel to access the window, frame, and motor
