I had that problem with my 92 Colt. It needed a new computer. Actually a rebuilt computer. It started cold, ran till it got hot then died, would start again after it had cooled back down. Computer fixed it.

83 280 zx dyes when warm. Complete tune up. Then new distributor and ignition module. Change ignition switch with many of the used ones ive got from wrecking yard. I havent cleaned terminals on ECU or

Hello! I've been there too. I guess you have touched your coil after the engine stops. If the coil is hot, usually the cause is a very high resistance in the high tension circuit. That is between the coil and spark plugs. Probably something makes a false contact or loose conection or the gap at the plugs it too big.
If your coil is cold, perhaps your coolant temperature sensor is bad. This sensor tells the ecu or the cold start valve to squirt more fuel. When it fails your engine can't start when cold or it dies when hot depending on the failure type. Another thing which can go wrong if your coil is cold can be the cold start valve. This is an auxiliar injector located at the throttle body. When it fails, it simply doesn't inject fuel or injects all the time! (Only 80's cars have cold start valve)

Have a 1993 gmc sierra. runs fine most of the time . but will just kill sometimes out of the blue. does not matter if it is warmed up or cold. when it dies will just turn over but not start. replaced spark...

When this truck dies, does it have spark,or fuel pressure?Check it for no spark,if it has no spark, replace the ignition module. These gm year models are bad to go out ,and the distributor pick up coil also.Replace the module first,if this does not help, replace the pick up coil.NOW ON A FUEL RELATED PROBLEMit could be fuel pump, fuel pump relay,or the pick up coil. The pick up coil pulses the injectors, and the spark.I hope this helps,if not let me know.

My 92 dodge caravan 4 cyl. dies after running five minutes.

Having seen many a ("Hall Effect Pick-up assy.) Or know as pick-up plate in distributor fail intermittently, that's where I'd go first. If engine starts cold & runs, then just quits anytime after warming up & driving, then you sit & wait for it to cool & it fires back up. $20-$30 should do it. It's under the distributor cap & easily replaced. That's provided you have that particular system. I'd replace that, remove battery connections to erase codes and start fresh & see what comes up after, if anything. Check this link, scroll down to Fig #8 and see if it looks same under your distributor cap, if yes, change it.
