Key wont unlock door 98 ford ranger

Will the keyfob unlock the doors? If not, then get a lock smith to open one door and then drive it to a Ford dealer to have the locks changed and the new keys programmed.

Key not operating locking

It could be dirty terminals in the key fob, also make sure the battery is the correct way round, positive facing up, hope this helps.

I have a jaguar 2.5l awd - cannot lock the doors by using the key fob i have to put the key in the door and lock them manually, however the key will open them by pressing the key fob anybody got ideas ??

If the car goes "beep beep" when you try to lock the doors something is still open.
otherwise
Sounds like a defective keyfob try a new battery, try your spare if you have one.
If you don't have a spare you should get one anyway.
You can match your new keyfob to the car by following instructions here:= http://www.bluejag.co.uk/X-Type-keyfob-reprogramming.php

The key fob sometimes does not lock or unlock car doors. i have had a new battery fitted.but still not working properly.

Hello,
Most of the keyfobs have instrctions on the back, or on the inside cover on how to change the battery in the keyfob and then reactivate.
If you can't find the instructions, you can try the following.

From outside of the vehicle, with all of the doors closed, push the unlock button, then the lock button, then the unlock button, then the lock button.
If that doesn't work;
Those keys/key pads, are highly sensitive to interfearence from other remotes, such as other keys with chips, garage door openers, etc., try to make sure that no other electronic products are near your keyfob.

I hope this helps you.

2004 xtype jaguar key fob suddenly stopped working car locked and alarmed if i use key in the door will the alarm go off if so how do i stop it

Your key fob needs reprogramming, and yes the alarm will go off when you open the door, but you have enough time to put the key in the ignition which will prevent the alarm sounding. Car is usable until you get the fob sorted by locking and unlocking using the key.

Doors wont unlock

lets go back to basics;and forget about fobs for the minute.the drivers door lock is the most important thing at this time, grab yourself a can of silacone/oil spray and put your key slightly into the door lock spray in [hold a tissue underneath the key] start moving key left to right gently until lock losens up this will reset the the system.dont be afraid to keep trying until lock comes back into play.{resume with fob}.hope this helped you.adrian
