Sounds like fuel problem but no doubt iam wrong again, firstly change fuel filter ,take it this motor is over the big pond because any self respecting europeon would have a vw or merc and if your poor a ford transit.firstly change the fuel filter or temp job blow it backwards with a air line ,then remove the fuel pump out the tank and clean the gauze filter on the bottom of the pump and look inside tank with a torch ,not an electric lead light?¿?¿¿?¿?clean tank out if it looks cruddy by using the existing fuel pump but stick a can on the engine end and then drain tank.Might find you have rust in the tank or somebody has put sugar in the tank or something stupid.Do you have many ex"s ?? .to clean out tank ,empty it with the fuel pump then remove the sender unit wipe it out the best you can with a rag ,then leave it to dry out for a day or so then push vacumn cleaner nozzle into tank and see how far you can get it round.Best of british mate

Get my XG350L-2004 to stop having starting problems and fuel problems intermittently?

Why would dry gas help ?

You already have 10% ethanol in your fuel,
so a small bottle more, won't do a thing, never did

Seafoam -- another well marketed product that got your money

What you failed to do was-- anything-- you did nothing in the
way of testing, to actually find a problem

Do that---- Have the vehicle diagnosed, just like
you would go to a doctor

How about checking fuel pressure at the motor, when it doesn't
start & test the entire fuel system

Check for OBD Codes & road test with scan tool & look at data

Ever do any Preventative Maintenance or know what it is ?

first check if your fuel pump is getting power, so check your fuses. next check fuel pressure while you are cranking the car. if you have no pressure and you are getting voltage to the fuel pump unit your pump is defective.

Ford based RV - 460 cc - possible fuel issues?

I'm not familiar with the vehicle (I write from the UK..) but yes sir, I would agree with you that it does sound like hot engine/fuel issues. Or maybe a 'cold start' injector, assuming it is a petrol engine.

I also agree that you don't throw money at it.

Personally, I would change the fuel filter (and air filter) anyway, it's the easiest and cheapest option.

You don't mention any problems when the vehicle is running, so I presume that when it is actually travelling, all is fine? If you had intermittent problems with the fuel pump I would have imagined that your vehicle would stall and splutter from time to time. Plus, at the low mileage you have done - a fuel pump shouldn't be failing or have problems.

I would change the fuel filter (and air filter if necessary) and also pour a can of 'injector cleaner' into the fuel tank as a 'lazy' or gummed-up injector(s) can cause starting problems - and take the vehicle for a nice fast run to 'try and clear things'.

Do the simple things first. The things YOU can do. With low mileage vehicles a 'glaze' can build up in the fuel system simply because the vehicle is low mileage /short runs. This causes injectors to become 'clogged and sticky'. Run it with additives in the fuel system ...

If all else fails, ask a workshop. But .. it sounds as though your vehicle is reliable apart from the starting-niggle. I don't think you have a big problem.

Have your catalitic convertor checked. When they go bad they clog up the exhaust system, not letting you vehicle breath. it will run(maybe) for a minute then die.

Starts, runs 5 min. then shuts down everything, won't restart for couple minutes and with aid of jumper cables

does the truck have an anti-theft system? if so did u install anything new on the vehicle( stereo, remote starter etc...)if not then the module for the anti-theft my be toast. if u have installed anything new, double check where the wiring for the new component has been spliced, the anti-theft module needs at least a 5 volt signal in order 2 work. if this wire has been spliced then u will not have enough voltage to run the module properly.the module runs on a timer so if the truck stalls then u will have 2 wait about 5 mins for it 2 reset b4 u can restart the vehicle

Running engine stalled

There are many things that can cause a car to stall while driving it. An engine is made up of many parts, and many of those parts are either governed by a computer or provide input to the computer to help it determine settings for the things it governs. Every vehicle has a fuel system and an ignition system. The computer and its sensors monitor and govern the fuel and ignition systems.

If your car stalled while you were driving it, look for an obvious reason first. Check to make sure you have fuel in the tank (if your gas gauge is working). Do not sit there and crank the car over, trying to get it to start, as you will quickly wear down the battery if it's not already bad.

IGNITION:
The ignition system is composed of: ignition switch, neutral safety switch, security bypass, plugs, wires (if applicable) and a coil, or in the case of coil-over systems, many coils. The crank and cam sensors tell the engine where top dead center is. Though these sensors do not usually cause a no start, if they break, the computer will go into "limp home mode," which allows you to get the car to a service station. The car will run badly, and may stall out on you.

Because the running of a vehicle is complicated, there are many more things that can cause a vehicle to stall. These are the most common things that can cause a car to stall. Other things include wiring, fuses, relays, other sensors not working properly or at all, a bad alternator or a bad battery, or an overheating problem, just to name a few.

Its stalls and hard to start

The next time you have the starting problem, try putting the shifter in the neutral position and try starting. If it starts right up, you have a park/neutral safety switch problem.
As far as the stalling, I would suggest a complete throttle body cleaning as well as a injector cleaning. You can purchase a couple of bottles of Chevron fuel system conditioner. Poor a bottle in the tank and fill with fuel. Run a couple of tanks through and you should notice an improvement.
You might want to stop by your local Auto Zone and ask them to scan your vehicle for trouble codes, it might give you additional clues.
Good luck,
Regards,

Need to check for fault codes. Possibly a faulty sensor causing the fuel system to run rich or lean.
