How do I repair the fuel lines on a 2000 chevy silverado that snapped off at both ends of the fuel filter as I was trying to change it?

Wow, is there room for compression fittings? We use them when a line gets cut off in the middle by some means. You can use neoprene hose and hose clamps like on a lawn fitting fuel filter at each end. Otherwise you can only change the lines. If the fuel filter is the brass kind, the ends are able to fit inside the neoprene hose's then clamp the ends with a hose clamp. Check for leaks, good to go.

is the metal line or the rubber line leaking? if its the rubber hose just get a new one at the local parts store they are specific to your vehicle.
if its the metal line buy a roll of tubing if you want to replace the whole line dont forget the correct fittings. if you just want to repair a section get a piece of line apx 2 ft longer then the section you want to repair with the correct fittings and that will cover it. Best repair replace the whole line do not patch or will end up repairing it again down the road.

I have a 2000 300M that has a transmission return cooler line leak (??) and I need to know a quick fix to get it back home 1200 miles

Depending on where the leak is, you may be able to cut the bad piece out and use rubber hose or a brake line to reconnect it. If you use rubber hose you may need to flare the lines to keep the hose from slipping off. If it is one of the ends where the line connects to the radiator or the transmission you may have to get a new line and fitting from the dealer.

At the drivers rear tire the break lines come to a connection . it is leaking . what is it call and can it be repaired?

If you mean they come a spot at the wheel--that is the caliper. Or, the spot where it changes from a steel line to a flexible line? That would be the simply, the brake flex hose.

Either way, do something rather quickly, brake fluid loss is potentially dangerous.

ANd yes, of course either can be fixed quite easily

Brakes dont stop suburban till I push real hard

Check brake system. Resurface brake rotors. Replace pads. Check drums and shoes. Fush system. I use cross drilled rotors and carbon fiber pads. Stop in a hurry. Some Suburbans (94 and up) have slow ABS units that take their time to allow brakes to activate.

What age? What Mileage?

Brake hoses go bad and either prevent brakes from operating or prevent them from pulling back after being applied. Had this problem too.

Also check for vaccuum leaks. TBI engines had a loose metal tube under the TBI unit. I had a vaccuum leak and had to tighten my tube 6 times @ 1/4 turn each. Solved problem.

Try to use some liquid around vaccuum hoses and see if idle changes. Non TBI engines have plastic intake issues.

Check check valve in vaccuum booster. My was bad too.

Molded hose neeed to be replaced. I used two hoses and a brake booster filter in the HELP section to make the 90 degree turn from the hard line to the check valve.

93 Suburban 2WD. Runs great now. 16 mpg city.

Hose leaking brake fluid. under drivers side . just put in new brakes and rotors

If the brake calipar was left hanging by the hose instead of being tied up,that puts a strain on the hose and the brake line causing it to crack or break. The hose needs to be replaced, and the brake system bled of air.

97 Chevy Suburban. Front left brake caliper apllies brake pressure but will not close when pressure to the pedal is relieved. We replaced both calipers (drum brakes on back) but the problem is still there....

i would have to say the master brake cylinder is at fault. there are ports in the cylinder that allow fluid back into the reservoir. these ports may be clogged. or the brake hose/line is clogged. have you changed the brake hose?

HOW DO I CHANGE THE POWER STEERING HOSE. IT IS WET ALL OVER AND LOOKS TO BE LEAKING BY THE RUBBER HOSE AND SILVER CONNECTION 1999 CHEVY SUBURBAN 5.7

You'll need to disconnect that line from the pump, (some metric wrenches will be needed) and disconnect the line at the steering gear box. It may help removing the A/C compressor and the power steering pump and bracket from the motor to get to the line where it attaches to the pump.

1999 Suburban Chevy, Every time I press the brake pedel I can hear air comming from the rubber boot inside the cab. Is the brake booster gone/going bad?

Usually, a hissing noise when you press the brake pedal is indicative of a leaking brake booster, yes.

While sitting still, idling, have someone else push the brake and grab a piece of garden hose or something, hold it to your ear, and listen up under the dash to find out if the noise is actually coming from that area, or you could also just pinch the line with a pair of vice grips, and see if you still hear the noise.

Your brakes will not cease to function as a result of a booster leak, but if it fails completely, they will become substantially more difficult to use.
